Unvaccinated star snubbed for Brazil squad

Brazil coach Tite has revealed one star has been left out his latest 26-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers as he is not fully vaccinated.

Atletico Madrid defender Renan Lodi has been a regular in the Selecao set up over the past year, but he will play no part in the final two qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.

The Daily Mail claim Lodi has not had his full course of the vaccines and would not be allowed to enter Ecuador while he would the need to enter a five-day quarantine ahead of the Paraguay game.

"Renan Lodi was excluded from the possibility of being called up due to his non-vaccination,' Tite told reporters on Thursday.

"He missed the chance to compete (for a place).'

"I personally believe that vaccination is a social responsibility, it's both mine and the person's alongside me,' he said at the squad announcement in Rio.

Neymar also missed out although he is recovering from injury, but there were call-ups for Arsenal's Gabriel, Dani Alves and the inform Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior.
