Meanwhile, Villa are plotting a move for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse, according to the Guardian. The England international would become the club's second signing of the season after Villa completed a deal to sign Argentina ace Emiliano Buendia from Norwich.
Arsenal have joined domestic rivals Manchester United in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier. According to the Metro, the Gunners could use Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin as part of a deal to bring the former Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur star back to England.

Olivier Giroud has hinted that he could be set to make a switch to AC Milan. Chelsea recently exercised a one-year option to extend the France striker's contract but he may yet move to Italy after revealing his admiration for the club, per Goal.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has reportedly asked the club to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. The Argentine striker scored 17 goals and added 10 assists for the Serie A champions last season and would reportedly cost the LaLiga titleholders around €70m (R1.1 billion), per AS.
AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will decide his future in the coming days, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Italy No. 1 is out of contract with the Serie A giants at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
