Following Lionel Messi's Copa America triumph, he is one step closer to being the most successful player in the 21st century. Here are the other 9 players with the most trophies since 2000! 

Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have competed at the highest level for more than a decade, with everyone else trailing the duo.

There has been a constant drive from both to always achieve more, which has led to them sharing 11 Ballon d'Or titles and claiming 73 trophies between them, and they continue to aim for yet more success even in the latter stages of their career.

The Argentine's recent Copa America win has seen the trophy gap widen between the pair, with the former Barcelona forward jumping from joint-fourth place to third among the players with the most trophies in the 21st century with 38 titles accumulated over his career, while the Juventus star is in seventh place with 35 pieces of silverware claimed to date.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now 39 but still going strong at AC Milan, is in 10th spot with the same number of titles Bayern Munich legend Arjen Robben claimed during his career.

The Swede's trophy cabinet is one of the most impressive, though, as he has won league titles in four different countries, while he also won eight straight league titles between the 2003/04 and 2010/11 campaigns.
