With the Premier League set to return on Friday night and Paul Pogba reportedly considering a contract extension, here are the 10 best-paid stars in England's top flight, including Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pogba's future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, but The Athletic reported on Monday that the French midfielder is now "leaning towards" the idea of extending his stay at the club.

It remains unknown how much the Manchester side would offer the 28-year-old, but per spotrac, the star currently boasts a wage of £290 000 (R5.8 million) a week, making him one of the EPL's best earners, although latest United signing Ronaldo is understood to earn more.

Pogba's new teammate Jadon Sancho ended a year-long transfer saga by joining the Red Devils in August. According to Sky Sports, the 21-year-old was signed from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million (R1.4 billion), and is now said to earn a hefty £350 000 (R7 million) a week.

Jack Grealish, meanwhile, recently joined Manchester City from Aston Villa for a record-breaking fee of £100 million (R2 billion), according to the Sky Sports. The tricky winger is also believed to now boast a wage of £300 000 (R6 million), making him one of the Citizens' highest-paid players.

Speaking of biggest earners, Romelu Lukaku completed a sensational return to Chelsea in August, becoming the Blues' most expensive signing ever. With the London club having reportedly paid Inter Milan £97.5 million (R1.9 billion) for the goalscorer, he is now understood to be earning £325 000 (R6.5 million) a week at Stamford Bridge.
