FC Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero has revealed how Lionel Messi reacted in private after his departure from the Blaugrana was confirmed.
When Aguero signed for Barca as a free agent from Manchester City in July, he mentioned that one of his reasons for joining the Catalan side was to play alongside his friend and Argentina teammate Messi at club level.
However, those hopes were dashed when it came to light that the then-Barca No. 10 would be leaving Barca.

Messi had spent more than 20 years with the Blaugrana, and his exit certainly came as a surprise as, in the weeks leading up to his departure, the LaLiga club had vehemently expressed their intention to award him with a new deal.
Aguero has now revealed that the confirmation of his exit from the Camp Nou devastated Messi, who went on to join Paris Saint-Germain a few days later.
"It was a moment of shock for him," Aguero told El Pais.
"He was very sick. When I found out, I couldn't believe it.
"That Saturday I went to see him at his house. And, because of my personality, since I didn't see him well, I tried [to] make him forget what had happened.
"I could see that he was half off and I was trying to distract him. I was telling him about my Esports team. And the things we were doing."
Aguero is still yet to make his Barca debut as he has spent the 2021/22 season so far on the sidelines due to an injury.
