Senegal international Sadio Mane has provided an update on his future at Premier League outfit Liverpool in the wake of speculation linking him with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Mane, 27, made history in the 2018/19 campaign along with fellow African stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and club teammate Mohamed Salah, when the trio all finished the season in England's top flight on 22 strikes to end as joint-winners of the Golden Boot award.
Following another impressive season for Jurgen Klopp's side, Mane has once again been heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos, with coach Zinedine Zidane believed to be a keen admirer of the Senegalese.
While Mane has since acknowledged the interest, the former Southampton star has distanced himself from the reports, insisting that he is happy at Liverpool.
"This is always part of football so we have to deal with it, but for me the most important thing is Liverpool and I'm happy here," he said, as per The Guardian.
"I'm preparing for one of the biggest games for the club and the fans and the players as well, so let's focus on this one first and win it.
"It's always a pleasure that this kind of team wants you, but don't forget Liverpool. We beat big teams."
Mane also discussed going into second successive Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, after succumbing to a 3-1 defeat to Zidane's Real side last year.
"I think it's incredible (to be in another final) and I'm so positive. We know we have targets – we wanted to win the league and the Champions League."
"We didn’t win the league but we still have one trophy to play for so we are going to try to give everything to win it. Everybody's ready to win.
"I think we learned a lot from that final and now we can use our experience to get what we want. Every time it makes it easier. We know how to deal with this kind of situation now."
Overall, Mane has made 49 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season, finding the back of the net on 26 occasions while registering a further five assists.
