Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has beaten both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the 2020/21 European Golden Shoe award.

After missing out on the accolade to Lazio's Ciro Immobile last season, Lewandowski has finally been crowned Europe's premier goalscorer following a prolific season in front of goal for Bundesliga champions Bayern.

The Poland international netted an incredible 41 goals in 29 German top-flight appearances to break Gerd Muller's competition record that had stood for 49 years.

Lewandowski, who is the reigning Best FIFA Men's Player, comfortably saw off competition from perennial contenders Messi and Ronaldo, who netted 30 goals and 29 goals for FC Barcelona and Juventus, respectively, to win this year's Golden Shoe.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva ended fourth with 28 goals, ahead of Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe, who share the fifth spot after netting 27 times each for the league campaign.

Among the other names to feature in the top 10 is Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku and Real Madrid hitman Karim Benzema.
