A Premier League club has announced the signing of FC Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho on a permanent deal.
Barca have completed the sale of Coutinho to Aston Villa after the Brazilian impressed during his six-month loan in the English top flight, having contributed to seven goals in 16 matches so far.
Villa are said to have paid a fee of €20 million (R338 million) for the playmaker, who has seemingly revived his career under his ex-Liverpool teammate and current manager Steven Gerrard – that figure is a far cry from the €135 million (R2.2 billion) the Blaugrana paid to acquire Coutinho's services from the Reds in January 2018.

It is understood that Barca will also retain 50% of the playmaker's image rights, and that Coutinho has signed a four-year deal with the Villans.
