Manchester City are reportedly "desperate to sign" a Real Madrid star who is said to be "unhappy" at the Santiago Bernabeu.
One of Real’s experienced campaigners, Luka Modric, is said to be unhappy with the terms of the new contract that he is being offered by the club.
A report by El Nacional claims that Los Blancos are offering the 36-year-old Croatian a one-year contract extension, as opposed to the two-year deal that the 2019 Ballon d’Or winner wants.

As such, it is said that the Modric feels undervalued by the club he joined back in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur.
It is understood that the four-time UEFA Champions League winner is even willing to take a pay cut in order to remain at the club, as he looks to be playing at the top level before leading Croatia at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Now, it is also reported City manager Pep Guardiola would love to have the veteran midfielder at the Etihad as he would welcome him with "open arms".
The Premier League champions have not had any incomings during this transfer window, but have sold Spanish attacker Ferran Torres to Real's rivals FC Barcelona.
It is, however, believed that Guardiola’s side will look to make Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland their top priority transfer, rather than bolstering the midfield position.
Meanwhile, if Modric’s contract saga at the Spanish capital drags on, it could see the playmaker depart, with Inter Milan being one of his long-time admirers.
