An Egypt legend has described Mohamed Salah as the greatest Arab footballer of all time after the Liverpool star reached a century of Premier League goals on the weekend.
Following Salah's landmark goal in the Reds' 3-0 win over Leeds United on Sunday, former Ajax Amsterdam, Tottenham Hotspur and Zamalek forward Ahmed Hossam, more commonly known by the moniker of "Mido", has claimed that the Pharaohs captain is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to players of Arabic descent.

"In my opinion, Salah is the best Arab player in the history of football," Mido said, per Egyptian news outlet KingFut.
"He scored more goals than any other Arab player in the Premier League, and he's won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles.
"Salah has also scored in the FIFA World Cup, and he still has years to do more in football.
"There are a lot of great Arab players, but I don't think any of them can be compared to Salah."
With his strike against Leeds, the 29-year-old joined former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba as the only two African players to have scored 100 Premier League goals or more, with the Ivory Coast legend having 104 EPL strikes to his name.
