Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi could reportedly be set for a sensational return to boyhood club Barcelona.
With the unveiling of new Barca manager Xavi Hernandez this week, reports in Spain have now suggested that a Messi homecoming is possible.

The Blaugrana's record goalscorer left the club in August after talks over a new contract fell apart due to their inability to fund the deal.
Messi emotionally left the club after two decades in its colours to join fellow European giants PSG as a free agent. However, the move to the French capital has not particularly worked out yet, with the Argentina star having been in and out of the team due to some niggling injuries.
With the 34-year-old's contract in Paris set to expire in June 2023, calls for him to rejoin Barca that year are becoming louder, especially with Xavi now at the club's helm, according to Marca.
Messi had revealed earlier this month, in an interview with Sport, that he would be open to returning to the club in a technical capacity one day, but it now appears he could do so as a player once again.
Victor Font, who was the runner-up to Joan Laporta in the 2021 Barcelona presidential election, has urged the Catalan outfit to plan a way to get Messi back to the Camp Nou.
"His departure deserved to be through the front door," Font told RAC-1.
"From that moment on, the club should be thinking about how Messi could return to Barcelona in 2023."
