Former Blaugrana star Xavi officially left his role as manager of Qatari side Al-Sadd last Friday, and rejoined his boyhood club on a deal lasting until June 2024.

"I arrive at a delicate moment, but I feel prepared," Xavi said at the unveiling, per Barca Universal.

"I know that we are generating enthusiasm and it is necessary to put order and have the maximum demand. There is a team that will do great things.

"We have to recover many things, especially the pressure after a loss in possession. Our training sessions will be intensive.

"Knowing the captains is an advantage for me, [Sergio] Busquets, [Gerard] Pique, [Jordi] Alba, [Sergi] Roberto, and players like [Marc-Andre] ter Stegen.

"There is a team and the talent is there as well. I will try to transmit my experience to the players to win titles.

"I want to thank the president. I got a call from Laporta and they told me they needed me here. I promise the fans that we will work hard.

"I am so excited! I have received a lot of messages from my family, my friends, my former colleagues as well.

"Coaching Barcelona was my dream, and now that dream has come true."

According to the club's official website, Xavi will take his first training session on Tuesday, although a number of Barca's top stars will not be present as they are on international duty.
