Fortuna Dusseldorf 1-2 Freiburg

Freiburg mvoed up to third on the Bundesliga table after edging Fortuna Dusseldorf 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Merkur Spiel-Arena.

Rouwen Hennings broke the deadlock for Fortuna three minutes before the break but Freiburg replied almost immediately thereafter through Jonathan Schmid on the stroke of half-time. Gian-Luca Waldschmidt snatched the winner for the visitors with nine minutes remaining.

Fortuna dropped down to 14th on the table, with four points from six matches, while Freiburg moved up to third, just one point shy of log-leaders Bayern Munich.

Freiburg's good form will be tested when they host Borussia Dortmund in their upcoming fixture, while Fortuna wil be looking to bounce back when they visit Hertha Berlin next Friday.

FC Koln 0-4 Hertha Berlin

Hertha Berlin thrashed ten-man FC Koln 4-0 courtesy on Saturday evening at RheinEnergiestadion.

Vedad Ibisevic bagged a brace, while Javairo Dilrosun and Dedryck Boyata also got on the score-sheet.

The home side also had Jorge Mere red-carded for dangerous play in the first half/

Hertha moved up to tenth on the log with seven points, while Koln slipped further down to second-from-bottom with three points, both after six games.
