France appear to have continued their stuttering form after an early exit from the 2020 European Championship, having recorded two draws in their past three matches.

In their most recent 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Didier Deschamps' men drew 1-1 with both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine, before comfortably beating Finland 2-0.

Spain also dropped in the latest men's football rankings after a shock defeat to 18th-placed Sweden in the latest international break.

La Furia Roja were leapfrogged by Portugal, who won all three of their matches in September.
