Barca flop linked with PL return?

World News

Three seasons following his club-record transfer to FC Barcelona, Brazil star Philippe Coutinho could reportedly set for a move back to the English top flight.

With Coutinho having failed to shine at the Camp Nou, the Catalan giants are reportedly ready to let the midfielder go for just a fraction of how much they paid for him.

The 29-year-old signed for Barcelona in January 2018 for a reported club-record fee of €135 million (R2.25 billion) following an impressive five years at Liverpool.

However, after a disappointing couple of years in Spain, and a season on loan at Bayern Munich, the Blaugrana flop has now been linked with a €20 million (R333 million) move to 2020/21 FA Cup champions Leicester City.

Report: Barca to sell seven players

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Foxes are a viable option for Coutinho, who could reunite with former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium – the playmaker was a central figure under Rodgers during their time together at Anfield, and made more appearances under him than under any other manager, contributing with 17 goals and 23 assists in 112 appearances.

Leicester are looking to strengthen after a disappointing league campaign that saw them drop out of UEFA Champions League contention for the second year running.
