With ex-Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez reportedly in Qatar ahead of a potential move to the Middle East after being "frozen out" at Everton, here are nine top stars he could join in the Qatar Stars League.
Former Los Blancos attacker Rodriguez is yet to make an appearance for Rafa Benitez's Toffees this season, following Carlo Ancelotti's departure at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, and it is reported that the Colombian is now seeking a move away from Goodison Park.

According to the Daily Star, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner is currently in talks with an unnamed Qatari side as their transfer window remains open until 30 September.
Rodriguez reportedly had the option to join FC Porto during the most recent transfer window but a deal to rejoin his former club fell through.
Benitez is believed to be keen on shifting the 30-year-old creative midfielder off the wage bill as he is said to be on £200 000 (R4 million) a week. The 2014 Puskas award winner joined the Merseyside club in 2020 on a two-year deal, with his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
Should a move to 2022 FIFA World Cup host nation Qatar go through for Rodriguez, the Colombia playmaker will join some notable stars, including former Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla and Ghana forward Andre Ayew, in the Qatar Stars League.
Cazorla and Ayew both represent Al-Sadd SC, a side managed by FC Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez, with the latter joining on a free transfer in July this year – scroll through the gallery above to see some other top stars plying their trade in Qatar today!
