An Egyptian Premier League club's president has claimed that his side might sign a player from FC Barcelona.

Having already signed four foreign stars from Bolivia, Argentina, Gambia and the Ivory Coast, Ismaily chief Yehia El-Koumy has has now stated that his side could acquire the services of a Barca player, per KingFut

With the club having a newly-elected board in charge, this is seen as an effort to establish a new beginning for the club under manager Juan Brown, who was appointed in November 2021.

However, Brown's side is currently languishing in seventh spot on the EPL table, with only two points from their first seven matches of the campaign.

Despite this, Ismaily president El-Koumy is still confident of securing some European-based stars for his club, although he did not name who could be coming in.

"We added great players to the team, and there are still other deals coming our way," El-Koumy told ONTime Sport Radio.

"One of the agents offered us a player from Benfica, there's a possibility to include a player from Barcelona as well if there is a place in the squad.

"We watch clips of the players, which are presented to the club's technical committee, and then we study the player's stats and goals on Transfermarkt."
