Ronaldo warned of new responsibilities

World News

Returning Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has warned superstar Cristiano Ronaldo that more is expected of him in the upcoming season.

According to the Daily Star, the return of manager Massimiliano Allegri, who had previously left Juve in June 2019, to the Turin club's helm will bring new expectations for star man Ronaldo.

Reports suggest that the Portugal striker is a big part of Allegri's plans for the 2021/22 campaign, and the coach has now confirmed that he has met with Ronaldo to discuss a more mature role in the team.

"Ronaldo is a great player and a smart guy. I spoke to him yesterday, as I did with the others," the Italian tactician said in a press conference, per the Daily Star.

"I told him that this is an important season and that I am happy to meet him again; now he has more responsibility, because three years ago we had a more experienced team, while now there are younger players.

"I expect a lot from him in terms of responsibility, he is in good condition and he is fit."

The 53-year-old coach also explained that the squad, including Ronaldo, will be rotated at various parts of the season due to the busy Serie A schedule.

"There are different moments in a season, playing one game every three days I'll need to rotate the team, involving all the players," Allegri added.
