Cristiano Ronaldo's mother has claimed that the Manchester United forward’s son is better than his father at his age.
There are many top football stars whose children have followed in their footsteps, with one of the most recent being the son of David Beckham, Romeo, who made his professional debut this past weekend.
Another potential star D'Margio Wright-Phillips, son of Shaun Wright-Phillips and grandson of Ian Wright, also made the headlines this week after helping Stoke City’s under-23s to a victory over Newcastle in the Premier League 2 on Monday.
Cristiano Jr could follow the same path as his dad, with the 11-year-old earmarked to enjoy a prolific career in football after impressive performances with Real Madrid's youth teams during his father's tenure at the Spanish club according to The Express.
In a recent interview with The ADN de Leao Podcast, Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, gave her opinion on her grandson’s footballing ability.
"I've already told him [Ronaldo]: 'Son, before I die, I want to see you return to Sporting,'" explained Aveiro Per The Express.
"He says: 'Let's see.' But if it can't be him, then Cristianinho! At his age, he plays better than Ronaldo.
"At that age, Ronaldo didn't have a coach but today Ronaldo is his son's teacher. He's already saying: 'Dad, when we move to Lisbon I want to play for Sporting.”
