Barca 'approach' Juve over swap deal

World News

FC Barcelona have reportedly approached Juventus regarding a potential swap deal that would see Antoine Griezmann go to Turin and Paulo Dybala head the opposite direction.

Barca's wage cap problem persists, and as recently as this week, ESPN reported that the club still cannot register their new signing Memphis Depay due to that issue.

It is believed that Antoine Griezmann's departure is a massive priority for the club as he is one of the highest earners at the Camp Nou.

According to L'Equipe, the Blaugrana have now proposed an exchange with Juventus that will see them get the Frenchman off their wage bill in return for 27-year-old Argentine attacker Dybala.

Griezmann has been linked with several clubs, including Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, and although his possible exit is understood to not be for footballing reasons, reports suggest that the 30-year-old is open to considering a move away as well.

Marca have reported that talks between Juve and the Blaugrana are currently at the initial stage, but the two clubs are known to have an amicable relationship – just last season they were involved in a swap deal that saw Miralem Pjanic and Arthur head in opposite directions.

Griezmann made 51 appearances for the Spanish giants last season, while Dybala featured only 20 times for the Bianconeri as he endured an injury-ridden campaign.
