Gyan lands mega-money return to Ghana

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has completed a sensational return to his homeland after signing a deal with Legon Cities.

On Sunday morning, Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities announced that Gyan, who is the Black Stars' all-time leading goalscorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances, had officially signed a deal to join the club.

As previously reported, it is understood that the 34-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract worth $1 million (R16 million) over the next four years, in a move that sees him return to the Ghanaian top flight for the first time since leaving Liberty Professionals in 2003.

"Here we go. I'm back home to continue my career with Legon Cities FC," Gyan shared via his official Twitter account.

"I'm happy to join this club because they have a future plan for Ghana football. Don't blink when the season starts. Follow my new club for every detail of the club. Thanks for your support."
