With the transfer window in full swing and many clubs being cash-strapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, here are 11 African stars who are currently available as free agents, including two South Africans!
Although a number of African players have already secured big moves in and around Europe, some have seen their contracts expire, while others have had their deals terminated by mutual consent.

Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu, Fode Ballo-Toure, and Frank Onyeka are just some of the African stars who have already signed with new clubs in this transfer window, having secured moves to Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion, AC Milan, and Brentford, respectively.
Some other top African stars are still available to be signed as free agents, though.
Morocco's Medhi Benatia parted ways with Qatari club Al-Duhail SC at the end of June, while Andre Ayew left Swansea City for the same reason, and both are available for any potential suitors on a free deal.
South Africa international Keagan Dolly's contract with Montpellier was not renewed after he arrived at the French club from Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2017, so he is also on the lookout for his next club.
Ex-Bafana Bafana captain Dean Furman, meanwhile, is reportedly training with his former club Oldham Athletic, while former Schalke and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb was last rumoured to be on the radar of Premier League side Burnley.
