However, some top tacticians, such as Zinedine Zidane, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, Ernesto Valverde, and Gennaro Gattuso, remain clubless today, although some of them could soon be snapped up.

Zidane left Los Blancos at the end of May this year, explaining that he felt the club no longer had "faith" in him. This came after the end of the 2020/21 campaign, with Real finishing trophyless for the first time since the 2009/10 season.

Lampard was sacked by Chelsea towards the end of January this year following a dismal run of results and performances, and was immediately replaced by Thomas Tuchel.

Valverde, meanwhile, was dismissed by FC Barcelona at the beginning of last year for reportedly diverting away from the club's football identity and style.

Gattuso was said to be close to landing the Spurs job last month after parting ways with Fiorentina just 23 days following his appointment at the Serie A club, but also remains without a club today.

As for Pirlo, he was sacked by Juventus after just a single season in charge, during which the Bianconeri only just claimed a fourth-spot finish on the last matchday to see them secure UEFA Champions League football for next season.
