Arsenal scraped to a narrow 1-0 win over Olympiacos in the UEFA Europa League last 32 first-leg on Thursday evening.

The Gunners struggled to get going for large parts of the game and as a draw seemed a reality, Alexandre Lacazette netted the winner to give his side a solid footing ahead of next week’s return-leg in London.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ debut tournament continued in fine style with a domineering 4-0 first-leg triumph over Espanyol.

Diogo Jota’s hat-trick followed by Ruben Neves’ solitary effort handed the hosts a healthy first-leg lead ahead of next Thursday’s return leg in Catalonia.

AS Roma 1-0 Gent

Italian giants AS Roma got back on the winning trail following a narrow 1-0 victory over Gent at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma netted the only goal through on-loan striker Carles Perez, who also happened to net his first since arriving from FC Barcelona in January.

Rangers 3-2 Braga

A late comeback saw Glasgow Rangers march to a 3-2 first-leg triumph over Portuguese outfit Braga in Glasgow.

Fransergio had the visiting side ahead at the break before Abel Ruiz doubled the lead shortly after the interval.

Rangers then staged a late comeback with a double from Ianis Hagi while substitute Joe Aribo also got in on the act to give the Scots a first-leg success.

Wolfsburg 2-1 Malmo

Wolfsburg defeated Swedish outfit Malmo 2-1 in the first-leg at the Volkswagen Arena on Thursday night.

After a goalless first half, Isaac Thelin had the away side ahead from the penalty spot early in the second stanza.

Josip Brekalo brought the home side level almost instantly before Admir Mehmedi put the Swedes out of sight a little later.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 FC Porto

Bayer Leverkusen managed to overcome FC Porto with a 2-1 first-leg victory at the BayArena in Leverkusen.

Lucas Alario had the Germans ahead just before the half-hour mark before a penalty from Kai Havertz midway in the second period gave the hosts a second.

Luis Diaz responded for the Portuguese with a late strike fo a crucial away goal.

Apoel Nicosia 0-3 FC Basel

FC Basel took an emphatic 3-0 first-leg lead over Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia at the GPS Stadium in Strovolos.

Raoul Petretta’s 16th minute strike had the Swiss ahead at the break before Valentin Stocker and Arthur Cabral got the second and third goals respectively.

AZ Alkmaar 1-1 LASK

AZ Alkmaar missed the chance for a commanding first-leg win after playing to a 1-1 draw against LASK at the AFAS Stadion.

LASK led for the majority of the match following Marko Raguz’s first-half finish while Teun Koopmeiners rescued an equaliser for the Dutch side in the remaining stages of the second half.
