Paris Saint-Germain revived their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League last 16 with a 3-1 win over Manchester United on Wednesday evening.
Edinson Cavani led the line for United against his former club, while PSG started with Kylian Mbappe, Moise Kean and Neymar Junior in the attack.
Neymar gave the visitors the perfect start in the first six minutes after dropping on the shoulder of the defensive area to blast in from a tight angle following a teasing ball.
The Red Devils began opening up, with a teasing header from Harry Maguire 25 minutes in from a right-sided corner-kick forced Keylor Navas into a save.
United levelled six minutes later when a stroke of good fortune from Danilo helped Marcus Rashford’s low shot from outside the area into the bottom-corner.
Anthony Martial missed a glorious chance to put United in front two minutes after halftime after sending a cross from Rashford over the top with the goal in clear sight.
Cavani nearly had one over his former club on 55 minutes following a swift counter-attacking, but chipped against the woodwork with the follow-up from Rashford cleared.
PSG regained confidence midway in the second half and hit the top of the crossbar from a looping header by Marquinhos following a cross.
The Red Devils were on a knife edge later on, as a low shot from the left by Mbappe forced De Gea to tip for a corner, as Thilo Kehrer and Rafinha entered on the side of PSG. From the resultant corner, PSG reclaimed the lead when Marquinhos applied an outstretched leg to send a loose ball in the bottom-corner.
It got worse for the Red Devils on 70 minutes as Fred earned his marching orders for a second bookable offence across the middle of the park.
PSG put the final nail in the coffin when Neymar grabbed a brace in stoppage time after tapping in a loose ball in the area after combining with Rafinha.
