Olivier Giroud has matched one of Didier Drogba's Chelsea records following his remarkable acrobatic goal against Atletico Madrid.
Giroud popped up with the all-important match-winner for Chelsea in the club's 1-0 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against Los Colchoneros on Tuesday, when he netted the only goal of the game with a remarkable bicycle kick.
The Frenchman's acrobatic effort took his tally to six goals in five appearances in the competition this season and earned the Blues a vital away goal heading into the home leg of the tie at Stamford Bridge next month.
His strike also saw him equal the record of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba by becoming the first player to net six times in the UCL since the Ivorian great did so during the Blues' triumphant 2011/12 campaign.
Giroud has also climbed to third place among Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorers in European competitions with 18 goals overall, behind only Drogba (36) and former club-captain Frank Lampard (25).
The former Arsenal star, who became one of only 16 players to score 4+ goals in a single UCL match earlier this season, is now second in the Champions League scoring charts for the campaign, with only Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland having scored more times.
