A brace from Poland striker Robert Lewandowski and a deflected shot by Thomas Muller ensured that the away side continued their dominance over the Blaugrana in recent times.
After the match, Pique made a concession about the difference in quality between the two teams, stating that the Blaugrana could not match the performance of their opponents, but also added that he believes Barca can still "end up competing".
"We are not among the favourites but still nothing happens, look at Chelsea last season," he said in a post-match interview, per Football Espana.
"This game teaches us that Bayern are superior, but very young players have come out who must be the future of this club.
"We are Barcelona and I am sure that we will end up competing."
Pique also took the time to defend fellow captain Sergi Roberto, who was jeered by the home fans as he was substituted.
"Sergi Roberto's whistles hurt," the defender added.
"He's a spectacular person and he loves the club like no other. I'd like to remind people that he's not a winger, he's a midfielder. He makes the sacrifice of adapting to that position.
"I'm sorry for the whistles but people are free to express."
