Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Juventus' UEFA Champions League clash against FC Barcelona on Wednesday night.
Ronaldo has been self-isolating since 13 October after he tested positive for the coronavirus while on international duty with Portugal, and his participation in the clash with Barca was cast in doubt last week when he returned a second positive result.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's absence from the showpiece fixture has now been confirmed by Sky Italy, who reported that a third swab test on Tuesday failed to yield a negative result outside of the 24-hour period required by UEFA.
Ronaldo will now have to wait until matchday 6 of the UCL group stage to meet old enemy Lionel Messi for the first time since leaving Real Madrid in 2018, with the Bianconeri and the Blaugrana set to go head to head again on 8 December.
