This will be the third time since 2011/12 that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have faced each other in the Champions League semi-finals, with the Germans progressing in 2011/12 and the Spaniards in 2013/14.
It also represents a tie with two of the most prolific forward's in the semi-final stage of Europe's elite club competition - Cristiano Ronaldo has netted 13 goals, while Robert Lewandowski has scored six times.
Ronaldo has also netted at least one goal in each of his last 11 Champions League fixtures which is the longest scoring streak in competition's history.
