Fati ruled out with 'growing pains'

FC Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati was notably left out from their UEFA Champions League squad to face Inter and the peculiar reason for his absence has now been revealed.

Fati, 16, burst onto the scene with the LaLiga champions this season amidst the early-season injuries to Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

After impressing with two goals and solitary assist in his six games, along with breaking several records, the mecurial talent has been sounded out for  a potential Spain call-up already.

Thus, his omission from the manager Ernesto Valverde's matchday squad agaist Internazionale on Wednesday evening raised questions in Spanish media.

But according Mundo Deportivo, Fati is unavailable for selection at the Nou Camp tonight for the visit of Inter as he is experiencing discomfort in his right knee - the pain directly related to Fati's growth.

It isn't the first incident that highlights how young the Guinea-Bissau born forward actually is, as he previously needed his parents permission to make his historic Spanish top-flight debut this season.
