Inter Milan surged to the top of Serie A after a 2-1 victory over SPAL at the San Siro Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Inter capitalised on Juventus slipping up at home to Sassuolo earlier in the day, as a first-half double from Lautaro Martinez put Antonio Conte’s side on their way.
SPAL sprung the match to life through Mattia Valoti five minutes after halftime, but victory belonged to the Nerazzurri.

AC Milan brought an end to a three-match winless run with a last-gasp 1-0 victory over Parma at the Ennio Tardini.
Theo Hernadez fired home the winner in the final two minutes of the match, giving the hosts their sixth defeat of the campaign.
Lazio 3-0 Udinese
Lazio pulled Udinese apart with a 3-0 beating to remain in third spot at the Stadio Olimpico in the city of Rome.
Ciro Immobile fired a double in the first half, with one coming from the spot minutes before halftime while Luis Alberto also fired home from the spot in the final minute of the half.
Napoli 1-2 Bologna
Napoli lost further ground in the title pursuit after slumping to a fourth defeat at home to Bolonga who ran out 2-1 winners.
Fernando Llorente had the Napoleons ahead four minutes to halftime, but Andreas Olsen clawed the visitors level in the 58th minute before Nicola Sansone netted the winner in the last ten minutes.
Hellas Verona 1-3 AS Roma
AS Roma thumped Hellas Verona 3-1 to register a third successive league victory at the Stadio Marc Antonio Bentogdi.
Justin Kluivert gave the Romans the perfect start in the first 20 minutes before Davide Faraoni responded for the home side.
Diego Perotti regained Roma’s advantage from the spot in added time while Henrikh Mkhitaryan made the points safe with the final kick of the game.
