Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has opened up about his decision to leave Premier League giants Manchester United last month.
After two seasons at Old Trafford, the Belgian striker opted switch the English top flight for the Serie A after becoming Inter's most expensive signing.
Following Jose Mourinho's departure, Lukaku dropped down the pecking order behind Marcus Rashford and eventually decided to leave.
The Belgium international admits he was made a scapegoat for the club's troubles last season as they finished in sixth spot.
"Scapegoated," Lukaku told ESPN FC.
"Meaning 'You. Are. The. Reason."
"This could be the team (Inter) I need," he said. "There's the love I have for this area. The love that I have for Inter.
"And it was the perfect moment for me to leave England. I didn't want to be there anymore."
