Just hours after Juventus confirmed the departure of Gonzalo Higuain, the former Argentina international has completed a deal to join MLS side Inter Miami.
Inter Miami, who are part-owned by Higuain's former Real Madrid teammate David Beckham, announced the acquisition of the 32-year-old on a free transfer just hours after he had reached a mutual agreement with the Bianconeri to terminate his contract.
"We are pleased to close a deal with Gonzalo and add an experienced and successful goalscorer, who has excelled in the world's best teams and leagues," Paul McDonough, Inter Miami CF's COO & sporting director, told the club's website.
"Our ownership group has always said our goal is to not only bring elite players to Inter Miami, but also good people that share our ambition and aspiration of making history in North American football, and we're confident we have found that in Gonzalo."
Higuain, who is the second player to join Miami from Juventus this season after France international Blaise Matuidi made the move last month, has been given the No. 9 jersey and will occupy an international roster slot as a Designated Player.
