The rape lawsuit against Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been withdrawn in Las Vegas but it's understood that it's not the end of the legal battle for the football superstar.
Accuser Kathryn Mayorga filed a complaint alleging she was raped by the footballer a decade ago in a penthouse suite at a hotel in Las Vegas.
While the accusations have lingered over the Juventus superstar, he reiterated his innocence while allegedly avoiding the authorities to be served a summons to appear in court since the file was made by the US woman.
But according to a report released by Bloomberg on Wednesday, Mayorga has decided to drop the lawsuit in Vegas.
While the news has filtered through various publications, Der Spiegel journalist Rafael Buschmann, who was part of the team of investigators that broke the news of the accusations for the German publication in September confirmed the case was dropped in the Nevada state court.
However, it has now been escalated to the US Federal court.
