Italy striker Mario Balotelli has been subject to a shocking racist statement from his club's president after being dropped by manager Fabio Grosso.
The 2006 World Cup winner dropped Balotelli from their starting line-up this weekend as Brescia suffered defeat to AS Roma.
And former Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, now president of the Serie A club pulled no punches when asked about the incident.
"What can I say? That he's black and he's working to whiten himself but he has great difficulties in this," Cellino said, as per The Guardian.
Brescia, who are bottom of the league, attempted to play down Cellino's comment, saying in a statement it was 'a quip' that was 'clearly misunderstood'.
The club further added that the chairman was attempting to protect the former Manchester City striker from the excessive media pressure of late.
