After Bongani Zungu won the Scottish Premiership with Rangers, here is a look at some other Bafana Bafana stars who have won league titles in Europe.

On Sunday, Rangers were crowned Scottish champions for a world-record 55th-time when the club secured their first league title in ten years, beating arch-rivals Celtic to the crown with six matches to spare for the season.

South African midfielder Zungu played his small part in the club's success, making 13 league appearances, and in doing so joined an illustrious group of players from the country to have enjoyed domestic success in Europe.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star follows in the footsteps of former Masandawana teammate Percy Tau, who won the Jupiler Pro League with Club Brugge last season, and a host of other stars from South Africa who have left their mark abroad.

That includes the national team's all-time record goalscorer Benni McCarthy, who won an Eredivisie title with Ajax Amsterdam and two Primeira Liga crowns with FC Porto, as well as the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League.

Steven Pienaar, Thulani Serero and Bernard Parker also enjoyed success in the Netherlands, while Quinton Fortune claimed the coveted Premier League crown during his spell with English giants Manchester United.

In Denmark, former Bafana Bafana strike partners Sibusiso Zuma and Siyabonga Nomvethe both won league titles, with FC Copenhagen and Aalborg, respectively, while Tokelo Rantie claimed gold in nearby Sweden with Malmo.
