Three South African players have learned their fate after the first round draw for the 2020/21 EFL Cup was completed on Tuesday.
Tom Barkhuizen, who was close to receiving a call-to the Bafana Bafana set-up last year, will be the pick of the stars in action when the EFL Cup returns next month, with Preston North End hosting Mansfield Town in their competition opener.

South African-born midfielder Ethan Chislett, who is set to embark on his first season with League One club AFC Wimbledon, could also feature in the historic tournament after his side was drawn away to Oxford United.
Dino Visser is currently unattached after reportedly turning down an extension with Exeter City, but the former Platinum Stars and Polokwane City goalkeeper has been trialling with League Two side Port Vale in recent weeks.
Should he join the lower league club, as is widely expected, Visser could take part in the cup, with the Valiants set to kick-start their campaign with an away trip to Scunthorpe.
There is, however, no place in the competition at this stage for Kamohelo Mokotjo and Kgosi Nthle after the South African duo were released by Brentford and Scunthorpe, respectively, at the end of last season.
All of the fixtures from the first round of the 2020/21 EFL Cup will be played on Saturday, 5 September 2020.
