Each club is compelled to submit a squad list of no more than 25 players, as well as an additional list of registered U21 players who are eligible to play in the EPL, which is where the five players in question feature.
Highly-rated midfielder Khanya Leshabela, 21, has been registered by Leicester City after impressing for the club during pre-season, and features on the list alongside Southampton's Kgaogelo Chauke, 17.
Crystal Palace's Nikola Tavares, 21, who has represented Croatia at youth international level, is also included after featuring in a number of the Eagles' first-team matchday squads last season, while Newcastle United new-boy Bradley Cross, 19, and Leeds United's Max McMillan, 18, round out the list.
No Bafana Bafana player has starred in the Premier League since Steven Pienaar's final appearance in 2017, while uncapped former England U21 star Andrew Surman is the last SA-eligible player to have done so, after appearing for AFC Bournemouth last season.
