Bafana Bafana striker Lars Veldwijk appears to be inching closer to an exit from Jeonbuk Motors after being linked with a loan move to K League 2 side Suwon FC.

Veldwijk joined Jeonbuk in January but is expected to be on the move again in the coming days after recently confirming to that there have been "changes" at the club.

Those changes relate to the impending arrival of Brazilian striker Gustavo and the club's reported interest in Gambian forward Modou Barrow, which have left the Dutch-born striker's position under threat.

The 28-year-old scored on his league debut for the reigning K League 1 champions in May but has managed just two starts in nine appearances since, and second division side Suwon FC have now confirmed their interest in obtaining his services on loan.

"We are negotiating with Veldwijk. We cannot guarantee it until we sign the contract, but the negotiations are going well," a Suwon FC club official told Yonhap.

Suwon FC, not to be mistaken with top-flight side Suwon Bluewings, currently top the table in K League 2 after nine matches and reportedly want to sign Veldwijk as a short-term strike partner to star striker An Byong-Jun.

The former Sparta Rotterdam star has also been linked with a return to the Netherlands, while he previously courted interest from within the PSL prior to his move to South Korea.
