Former Cape Town City starlet Gift Links will look back at the 2019/20 campaign with pride after helping AGF Aarhus claim a historic third-place finish in the Danish Superliga.
AGF brought their domestic campaign to a close on Sunday evening with a defeat to rivals Brondby, but the result will have done little to dampen spirits after the club recorded its highest league finish since 1997.
Links, who joined the Danish outfit from Cape Town City in September last year, played his part in the club's bronze medal success after making 14 appearances for the season, including a Man of the Match performance against eventual runners-up Copenhagen earlier in the month.
AGF's podium finish has also put the club in contention to play in next season's UEFA Europa League campaign, although they will first have to overcome Odense Boldklub in a European play-off match to secure their spot in the competition.
Links, who also made two appearances in the cup competition this season, will be hoping to play his part in the team's bid to qualify for Europe, and in doing so could enhance his burgeoning reputation as one of South Africa's most promising young players.
