Kazakhstani side Ordabasy FC have explained the reason behind May Mahlangu's absence from the club's training camp.

Mahlangu has been a notable absentee from Ordabasy's training camp in Turkey where the club are currently concluding their preseason preparations ahead of the 2021 Kazakh Premier League campaign.

The new season is set to get underway next month and, ahead of the competition's commencement, the club has sought to address concerns surrounding the Bafana Bafana midfielder's future in Shymkent.

"The club would like to note right away that the South African midfielder of Ordabasy, May Mahlangu, has one more year of contract with the club," an official statement read.

"But now Turkey, due to the pandemic, does not allow citizens of some countries to enter its territory and, unfortunately, South Africa is included in this list.

"In this connection, Makhlangu at the moment cannot join the Shymkent team. The club's management, as well as the player's representatives, are doing everything possible to ensure that the player arrives at the disposal of the team as soon as possible."
