Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba appears to be on the comeback trail after undergoing knee surgery in August.

Mothiba, 24, has been sidelined since August when he underwent surgery in France to repair a damaged tendon in his knee.

The RC Strasbourg star was forced to go under the knife after sustaining a knock during his club's final pre-season match ahead of the campaign, with manager Thierry Laurey stating at the time that the striker will only return to the pitch in the new year.

"It's a problem with a tendon in the knee that he's had for a little while, we prefer to fix it once and for all," Laurey told French news outlet DNA. "He will be unavailable for four to five months, until January."

Mothiba appears to be making good time on his recovery, and recently shared a motivational update on Twitter showing that he has stepped up his rehabilitation and is now running with the use of the club's state-of-the-art differential air pressure technology.

"Here is what I am commanding you to do. Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go. Joshua 1:9," the former LOSC Lille striker wrote in the caption alongside the video.

Mothiba joined Strasbourg in August 2018 and has since played a hand in 20 goals in 59 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 14 times and recording a further six assists.
