Brighton 'inundated' with Tau interest

SA Players Abroad

Brighton and Hove Albion have reportedly received more enquiries over the services of Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau than any other player.

Tau, 26, looks set to have his season-long loan deal with Anderlecht cut short this week with Graham Potter keen to utilise the forward for the second half of the Premier League season.

As a non-EU player, the South African has struggled to secure a work permit due to Bafana being outside the top 50 FIFA rankings but the United Kingdom breaking away from the European Union - his loan exile could now end.

Having spent the last two and a half seasons on loan in Belgium with affiliate club Royal Union Saint Gallioise, Club Brugge and Vincent Kompany's Anderlecht respectively - Tau's experience with club and country could now see him secure the paperwork needed to be registered in the Seagulls squad.

According to the British publication The Argus, Tau has attracted more interest than any other player in their squad since they signed him from Mamelodi Sundowns in a reported R50-million transfer.

It's been claimed the South Coast outfit have been 'inundated' by enquiries but have held firm as they look to offer him a chance to shine in England's top-flight.

Tau has scored four goals and registered a solitary assist in 14 games for the RCSA this season who are currently fourth in the Jupiler Pro League.
