Anderlecht star Michel Vlap has explained the reason behind his angry reaction to being substituted for Percy Tau over the weekend.
Tau made his debut for Anderlecht when he featured as a second-half substitute in the club's 3-1 Jupiler Pro League win over Sint-Truiden on Sunday, and marked the occasion in typical style with a sensational goal in injury time.

While the Bafana Bafana star's performance made headlines for all the right reasons, the man he replaced on the field found himself with some explaining to do after reacting angrily to being substituted in the second half.
Vlap, who was taken off due to a suspected groin injury, took to Twitter after the match to explain that his reaction was borne out of the frustration of wanting to see out the fixture more than anything else.
"I had the feeling I could get more out of the game but to prevent a groin injury I was rightly replaced. I was certainly not angry with the trainer and medical staff. They were right in not taking any risks. Sometimes I am a bit too fanatic. I think they call it sports emotions," Vlap explained on Twitter.
Interim-boss Franky Vercauteren, who has since returned the managerial reins to Vincent Kompany, was quick to defend the Dutch midfielder after the match, and confirmed that the substitution was completed as a precaution against further injury.
"The change was as a precaution but Michel still wanted to help the group and score," Vercauteren explained, per Leeuwarder Courant.
