Rangers midfielder Bongani Zungu has paid tribute to his former Mamelodi Sundowns teammate Themba Zwane after his 2019/20 PSL awards success.
Zwane, 31, secured the PSL Midfielder of the Season, Players Player of the Season and Footballer of the Season awards and R500 000 prize money on Thursday evening at the annual ceremony.
With Zungu recently claiming the Bafana Bafana star is the 'best midfielder' in the country, he beamed with pride to see his close friend and former Brazilians teammate finally lift the most coveted individual title in PSL football.

"Themba is a very good person, a good player, very humble and hard-working and over the past two seasons, he's been exceptional for Sundowns," Zungu tells KickOff.com.
"It was about time his hard work gets recognised [in South Africa]. I'm very happy and proud of him. I always say 'things of quality have no fear of time' and he's a true definition of these words."
Zwane found the back of the net for Masandawana in the 2020/21 DStv Premiership opener in a 3-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
