Bafana Bafana legend Sibusiso Zuma has slammed reported claims he made about Percy Tau as fake news.
Zuma, 44, enjoyed over a decade of success in Europe during his career and was quoted as saying he was disappointed by Tau ending up Belgium when he left Mamelodi Sundowns.
Tau has since won the Proximus Player of the Season during his first loan stint at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and is closing in on the top-flight title within his second temporary move with Club Brugge.
"If you google Sibusiso Zuma, there's a newspaper that put a front page saying I said Tau was only good enough for Belgium league but that's bull****, I never said anything like that," Zuma tells KickOff.com.
"I saw him when he was playing at Sundowns in the academy, he was a very promising youngster and he became a very good football player.
"So Belgium for him, is a very good stepping stone, you know he just needs to focus now if they win the league, he's still quite young."
Currently still on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, Zuma feels Tau could benefit even further with another season in the Belgian top-flight.
"I would love to see him win the league there again and perhaps it will give him what he needs to play in England after that."
Tau has scored four goals and registered eight assists in 30 games across all competitions for the Belgian champions-elect.
