Ekstein extends rich run of form

Former Kaizer Chiefs fan favourite Hendrick "Pule" Ekstein has extended his rich vein of form in Europe, scoring yet another goal for his new club in Azerbaijan over the weekend.

Ekstein, 28, ended his five-year affiliation with Amakhosi when he penned a two-year deal with Azerbaijani Premier League side Sabah Football Club at the end of June.

After being unveiled, Ekstein immediately made his mark with the club, netting a brace in a 5-3 victory over Zire FC in a friendly.

The dribbling wizard was again among the goals on the weekend for Sabah, who secured a 2-0 win over Sumgayit FK in a friendly as they continued their preparations for the 2019/20 season.

Ekstein, who has now scored three goals in two matches since his arrival at the club, will be hoping to replicate his excellent form in Azerbaijan's top flight upon the commencement of the new campaign on 16 August 2019.

The attacking midfielder amassed 91 appearances for Chiefs, finding the back of the net on seven occasions while being on hand to register two assists.
