Rival coach leaps to Pitso's defence

Pitso Mosimane

Smouha head coach Ahmed Samy has leaped to the defence of Pitso Mosimane after his style at Ahly Ahly came in for some criticism recently.

Mosimane has enjoyed a fairy-tale start to life at the Red Devils, having led the club to the CAF Champions League, Egypt Cup and a third-place finish at the FIFA Club World Cup last month.

However, following the defeat to Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup semi-finals, Mosimane's style of coaching drew criticism from various quarters of Egypt, but Samy has been quick to defend his South African counter-part.

"Mosimane's results with Al Ahly are excellent and he gets good results in all the tournaments he participated in," he told OnTime Sports.

"Some people are not satisfied with some matches, but the performance will improve with time.

"Whoever wants a good performance all the time along with good results, that no longer exists. And whoever wants to watch 'beautiful football' should go to the circus. Mosimane's results with Al Ahly are excellent in all the tournaments he participates in."
