Ex-Ahly star criticises Mosimane

Pitso Mosimane

Pitso Mosimane has been criticised by another former Al Ahly star after dropping points for the first time in the 2020/21 Egyptian Premier League season.

Mosimane's Ahly were held to a 0-0 draw to Wadi Degla last week which coincided with the announcement of new marquee signing Walter Bwalya from El Gouna.

The need for of the DR Congo striker was evident as the Red Devils spurned several chances in a subdued display which failed to impress three-time African Champions League winner Ahmad Belal.

"Mosimane should've played with two strikers to make the most out of the opportunities they got and score goals," Belal told Al Masry Al-Youm.

"He was very reserved and failed to make good tactical decisions. The changes he made were very late. He had to make them to confuse the opponents but he didn't do so."

Mosimane will lead the Club of the Century out in their First Round Champions League second leg tie this evening at Al-Salam Stadium against SONIDEP from Niger (19h00).
