Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Gamondi has landed a new job in North Africa three months since being sacked by Wydad AC.

The Argentine who won the 2005/2006 league title with Sundowns was sacked by Wydad in October after suffering defeat to Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League semi-final.

However, he's moved on swiftly with a major new challenge to restore the glory days of their Botola Pro rivals Maghreb de Fès as he succeeds Abdellatif Jrindou with the 2011 Confederation Cup winners.

During the presentation press conference, the Argentinian said he was 'aware of the history and the aura' of the club of the spiritual capital, ensuring that his project has set 'ambitious objectives'.

Gamondi announced Tariq Chihab as his new assistant and Salaheddine Haddou as his sports nutritionist adviser.

The Yellow Tigers are currently fifth in the Moroccan top-flight, eight points behind leaders Wydad after seven rounds of fixtures.
